Event Details
All races will start at the Barton Road entrance to Trentham Memorial Park. All races will start with a run, followed by the bike ride. We are doing this so that by the time the kids are on their bikes they are well spread out to minimise the risk of crashes and bashes. The courses will involve a single loop of the track so that we can keep track of all the competitors and are designed to be over and done with all inside a short period of time. We what the kids to be sweaty, proud and happy when they finish not completely exhausted and tired so they are kranky for the whole day!
Race Categories and Course Descriptions are available HERE and you can enter real easy HERE

We will have a BBQ on hand throughout the race so the mighty mites can stock up on food both before and after their race.
Being a bike race we have a few rules that all participants must follow. They are:
- Bike helmets MUST be worn. No helmet no racing. Its law in New Zealand AND for your safety
- Bike helmets must be on BEFORE you mount your bike.
- Bike helmets must be NZ Safety Standards approved. If in doubt see Andrew and the team at THE CYCLE CENTRE. Andrew knows bikes, knows kids and knows kids bikes. If in doubt check it out!
- No Training wheels. Sorry all but this is a safety factor as well. Training wheels are good for learning and good for tarmac but are not good for grass or gravel. If training wheels are needed to ride then wait until next year to be a Mighty Mite. The race will still be on and you will be another year stronger.
We also strongly recommend that you get your bike checked prior to the race by THE CYCLE CENTRE. Andrew and the team will give is a good look and let you know if there is anything that will need work to ensure your safety, or if your bike is ok to ride as is. Andrew is a great supporter of kids cycling and will want to see as many kids riding safely as possible.
